Royalston Building Committee Mission

The Royalston Building Committee will serve as the focal point for activities directed at providing adequate facilities for the efficient and effective operation of the town.  The direct work of the committee, however, are restricted to:

  • Defining the office needs for the Town of Royalston currently and for the foreseeable future.
  • Performing a detailed analysis of current town owned buildings.  This analysis should:
    • Develop a detailed statement of the physical condition of each facility.
    • Provide the information needed to remove any deficiencies for each facility.
    • Determine exactly how much office space each facility can provide.
  • Define any additional space that must be either constructed or acquired to meet the needs given above.
  • If additional space is required, determine how each existing facility can be used or repurposed to improve the value of any added space.
  • Ultimately, to determine how every town-owned facility will be either be used or if a facility cannot be used, what is the best disposition of that facility.

The near term activities of the Royalston Building Committee should lead to a Municipality Facilities Plan that will include most of the results listed above and provide an overview of how the town moves from the current reality of poorly maintained and inadequate facilities to the future described in the Vision Statement.
