CodeRED - Reverse 911

CodeRED is the FREE community notification system available to Royalston residents, or anyone who wants to know about emergency incidents occurring in Royalston.  This system will allow us to send you alerts concerning time-sensitive and/or emergency information that may impact your area via phone calls, text messages, emails, and social media.

Royalston Emergency Management  encourages you to actively participate in emergency preparedness by remaining informed. Safety is a two-way street, so be sure to register today to receive the information you need, when it matters, regarding events such as:

• Missing Persons/Children
• Storm Warnings
• Hazardous Material Warnings
• Boil Water Advisories
• Road Closures
• Shelter in Place Warnings
• Evacuation Notices
• Any other situations that could impact the safety, property, or welfare of our citizens

The system is capable of sending messages only to specific neighborhoods or the entire town. Only authorized officials are allowed access to the system.

Because phone companies no longer publish phone directories it is becoming difficult to maintain a database of phone numbers.  Royalston continues to look for ways to improve the existing database but everyone is encouraged to enroll online with their landline phone number, their cell phone number, email addresses as well as out of town office phone numbers. We encourage anyone who lives, works, attends school, owns property or is otherwise interested in being informed about emergencies connected to one or more Royalston addresses to enroll online with CodeRED using the link below.

Please use only a proper Royalston street address number and street name with suffix (e.g., 10 Main St) when entering your Royalston address. Post Office box numbers or addresses outside of Royalston will not be accepted by the system. For example, if you have property in Royalston but live elsewhere, enter the address of the Royalston property but your own phone numbers. This will allow you to be alerted of a problem in Royalston, wherever you happen to be.

We now have several methods for residents to enroll/update their emergency information.  The easiest is to use our new Text to Enroll (TTE) system.  The TTE system will allow you to use a cell phone to access our database.  Simply text the phrase, RoyalstonAlerts, to 99411.  You will immediately receive a link.  When you select that link you will be taken into the CodeRED system.  There are a number of options given on that first page but we recommend that you scroll down and select, No, continue to enroll as a guest.  You can then enter phone numbers and emails and decide how you want to be contacted in an emergency.  If you enroll as a guest and your data is already in the system the TTE system will simply accept your input but any new information will be put onto our database.

If you do not have access to the internet at home, please consider using a computer at the Royalston Public Library or ask a friend or family member for assistance. If you cannot register on-line, you can call the Royalston Emergency Management Agency at (978) 249-2904 and leave your information so it can be entered. It is our intention and hope that every residence and commercial facility in our community will be included in the notification database.
