Royalston Open Space Committee

The meeting convened at 7:30 p.m. at town hall.

Minutes:
The committee unanimously approved the minutes of October 12, 2006.

Town Issues:
(1) The committee agreed by consensus to adopt a parcel near the center
as its first protection goal. The committee discussed the fact that the process
will be long, but that this parcel could be a worthy candidate for community involvement,
for a self-help grant, and for cooperation with other conservation organizations.

(2) Aaron will follow up on a request for information from a resident on
Athol-Richmond Rd., and Glenn will follow up with an out-of-town landowner
interested in Chapter 61.

(3) The committee agreed by consensus not to post the state's current Chapter 61
brochures and instead to await a version currently being developed by Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust.

(4) Glenn reported that a trust which owns significant active forest land in town
is interested in purchasing abutting lands which become available.
