The meeting convened at 7:30 p.m. at town hall.
Minutes:
The committee unanimously approved the minutes of October 11, 2007.
The committee went through a Community Preservation Act planning session facilitated
by Jay Rasku of the North Quabbin Regional Landscape Partnership, including
discussion of
timelines and strategies for getting information to voters.
Jay noted that software
used by Boards of Assessors to implement the CPA can cost
up to $5,000 and that the state legislature is considering a measure that
would guarantee
at least a 75 percent match for local CPA funds raised.
The board agreed that Aaron and Jack will work on creating a social networking list, Vyto and Jack will process voter lists, Chris will contact conservation organization to obtain lists of Royalston members, and Patti will get property values from the Board of Assessors in order to prepare our chart of the CPA's cost per taxpayer.
