The meeting convened at 7:30 p.m. at town hall.

Minutes:
The committee unanimously approved the minutes of January 11, 2007.
(Due to a lack of quorum, the committee did not meet in February.)

Committee Matters:
(1) The committee reviewed the action plan of the Royalston Open Space and Recreation Plan 2004-200. Patty will prepare a summary of our accomplishments and goals.

(2) Aaron will write the annual report for FY06, due to the Select Board by March 31.

Town Issues:
(1) Regarding the parcel south of the Town Common, Aaron reported that the landowner is not interested in pursuing protection at this point. The committee will remain open to future discussion.

(2) Aaron will check into the status of the U parcels, for the taking of which town meeting approved $4,000, and into how the town manages land it owns.

(3) Aaron reported that the North Quabbin Landscape Partnership is working on recommendations for the next phase of the Forest Legacy program. One possibility is a joint project with New Hampshire, for which Royalston could be a candidate.

Public Outreach:

(1) Aaron will find out whether Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust has published its new guide to Chapter 61 and will purchase some copies of Wildlands and Woodlands.

(2) The committee is considering holding a public meeting in the fall, inviting residents to identify their favorite places. The committee will explore the possibility of tying into the North Quabbin Woods website as a way to disseminate information about these special sites.
