The
meeting convened at 7:30 p.m. at town hall.
Open Space and Recreation Plan Update:
Aaron reported that the committee has received 59 responses to the Open Space
and Recreation Plan survey and that he is tabulating the results.
The committee will hold two open meetings to solicit additional public input:
(1) at its regular meeting on April 9, the committee will present the results
of the survey and solicit ideas about community priorities regarding the goals
of the plan; (2) at its May 14 meeting, the committee will present the draft
of the updated plan and solicit final comments. Aaron will write articles
about these meetings for the newspapers and newsletter.
In the meantime, Aaron will contact the North Quabbin Landscape Partnership
about acquiring updated maps to accompany the plan. He will also e-mail Pattie
a Word version of Section 3, for which she will update the demographic data.
Because some residents have identified high property taxes as a major threat
to open space, she will also compile figures comparing property values and
taxes within the 23 towns served by Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust.
