The meeting
convened at 7:30 p.m. at town hall.
Maps: Plans were made to get some good parcel maps of Town, which show already protected lands.
Beth will contact Helen Divoll, Town Administrator, to try to find the maps that were prepared along with
the Open Space Plan by the consultants MacGregor and Associates. Aaron will also work on finding
protected space
maps. Mapping which parcels are owned by out-of-town owners would also be
useful.
Open Spaces: The committee is considering two plots of land, both with ponds.
(Both have hitches: One already has a purchase and sale agreement, but the town has right of first refusal;
the other isn't officially on the market.) There is a good chance of using the Mt. Grace Land Trust revolving
loan fund to protect these lands if the selectmen and owners work together. The open space committee
would have to fund raise to reimburse Mt. Grace. Need to get better picture from selectboard of its
priorities before
taking any action.
Public Outreach: The board stressed the importance of keeping meetings open and the public involved
in the process
of prioritizing plots and fundraising.
Internal Business: The next meeting is February, 10 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall.
Leigh Youngblood of Mt. Grace Land Trust as well as a member of the Select Board will attend
to discuss options
under the land trust’s Self Help Grants.
