Note:
The committee's regularly scheduled meeting on December 13 was cancelled because
of snow and reposted for December 20.
The meeting convened at 7:30 p.m. at town hall.
Minutes:
The committee unanimously approved the minutes of November 8, 2007, as amended.
on this program, which provides a state-funded consultant to work with towns
to identify
and inventory properties of cultural value. Aaron worked with the Selectboard
to submit an application for Royalston; the six winners of this round will
be announced shortly.
Community Preservation
Act: The committee finalized its preparations for the
January 10 public meeting:
o Aaron will prepare a press release for the Athol Daily News.
o Aaron and Kim will write a letter inviting all town officials to the meeting.
o Aaron will ask Jon Hardie to announce the meeting via his e-mail list.
o Aaron and Elizabeth Farnsworth will create and hang posters.
o Aaron and Chris will prepare a handout for the meeting, key questions and
answers on one side, a chart showing actual surcharges and the dates of
future meetings on the other.
o Aaron will work with CPA Coalition representative Katherine Roth to establish
the
agenda for the meeting.
In preparation for the
May annual town meeting and the November ballot,
the committee also discussed continuing efforts to establish effective public
outreach via voter lists and lists of members of other organizations. The
committee
voted unanimously that any lists received from other organizations will be
used
solely for the purpose of disseminating information about the CPA and
that the organizations will be given prior notification of any such mailing.
