Open Space Committee
Town of Royalston, Massachusetts

 Information

We were convened in early 2005 to carry out the goals of the Royalston Open Space and Recreation Plan 2004-2009.

The primary goals of the plan are to:

  • Preserve and maintain open fields and working landscapes

  • Enhance the recreational facilities that do exist and commit to their upgrade and maintenance

  • Protect clean air and water for all Royalston residents

  • Protect the small-town character, scenic views, wildlife habitat, and rare plant and animal species of Royalston

  • Selectively target lands for conservation or recreation where necessary and appropriate, with attention to the effects of preservation on municipal finances
